Collection: Saboricua
I joined the Bridge Art Institute because I needed a space where I could fully express myself—where my hands, heart, and brain could work together to bring something to life. As someone who now uses a wheelchair, art has become an anchor for me. It grounds me, gives me a voice, and allows me to piece things together in ways that feel whole.
I work in mixed media, using found objects, photography, textiles, and melted crayons to create abstract pieces with personal meaning. My artistic process feels like cooking—it’s tactile, intuitive, and fueled by a need to transform. I love what I do because it’s always evolving. There’s always something new to explore, something new to process. My art is how I navigate the constant flow of thoughts in my mind.
What makes me an artist is how my brain works. It lets me see the world differently—more openly, more honestly. Through my art, I take everything I’ve been through and put it on the canvas. There’s no right or wrong in that. Just truth.
